I have privately tutored college essay composition and high school and middle school English for five years. I have also worked as a Kumon tutor and as an assistant at a college counseling non-profit organization. I have privately tutored in China both at the elementary level and for adults looking to transition culturally to the US and Canada. Critical reading skills are necessary to understanding laws, cultural norms, and social situations, but language, especially in translation, is often confusing. By using a range of creative fiction and non-fiction materials, I work to ensure that students learn to love reading and writing at all ages while supporting both the school curriculum and reading skills that are required for success in all areas of life. I am also available for US college and private school admissions advising.
Experience
I graduated from McGill University with a bachelor's degree in Political Science. I also minored in East Asian Studies and Global Literature. I am currently pursuing a master's in public policy at City University of Hong Kong. I work as a freelance writer and researcher.
